This infamous annual rite of spring harks back to the days when nightlife was spelled N-Y-C. The party is going stronger than ever. With more than 5,000 attendees over 18 hours, it remains one of the largest dance parties in the world. Not to mention one of the most outrageous. Internationally respected for its infamous productions, it has re-tained the Saint’s reputation for cutting-edge innovation, superstar international DJs and the world’s naughtiest and nastiest performances.

The related Expo and Bazaar is a daylong exposition held on the day of the party that pulls back the leather curtain, granting visitors access to the netherworld behind the biggest and most notorious gay dance party in the world. Attendees are free to drink, dance, ogle and gawk as they meet their favorite adult film stars and power-shop for the very best in leather and fetish fashions, adult films, books, toys, erotic art, and everything else you’ll need for those after-hours when the dance party has ended but the private party has just begun.

New York City’s annual spring bacchanal, THE BLACK PARTY, is known and respected world wide for its notorious productions, it has retained its reputation for cutting edge innovation and staging, superstar international DJs and world class performances. With more than 5,000 annual attendees it remains one of the largest gay dance parties in the world.

Recently expanded to include a weekend long series of events, along with The Black Party proper, BPX features THE HOOKIE AWARDS and THE BLACK PARTY EXPO & BAZAAR, a day long exposition held on Saturday day that pulls back the leather curtain, granting visitors access to the netherworld behind the biggest and most notorious gay dance party in the world.  Attendees are free to drink, dance, ogle and gawk as they meet their favorite adult film stars and power-shop for the very best in leather and fetish fashions, adult films, books, toys and erotic art, all while mingling under the stunning theatrical installations erected for the night’s big event.

SATOSHI TOMIIE (10 PM to 3AM)
Satoshi Tomiie is Japan’s most successful DJ. Since the late 1980s he has been at the forefront of the global house music movement thanks to his seminal dancefloor anthems, pop remixes, headliner DJ sets and constant reinvention. A lifelong student of jazz and classical piano, Satoshi had an influential impact from his very first record. His debut single ‘Tears’, which he co-produced in 1989 with Chicago’s ‘Godfather of house’ Frankie Knuckles, was an instant club hit and is today considered one of house music’s most important moments. In the early 1990s, he toured and played keyboard for Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto (of Yellow Magic Orchestra fame). His reputation for crafting meticulous club rhythms led to him remixing some of pop’s biggest names including U2, Mariah Carey, Photek, Simply Red, and David Bowie. At the turn of the millennium in a reinvention move typical of his DJ career, Satoshi introduced a groundbreaking new club sound via 2000’s ‘Full Lick’ album. The long-player featured dark twisted electronic rhythms, haunting vocals, and hypnotic grooves that came to set the benchmark for a new developing house scene. The album’s hit single ‘Love In Traffic’ became a worldwide underground hit.

CHUS & CEBALLOS (3 AM t0 9 AM)
On the road since 2002 Chus & Ceballos are nowadays one of the most prestigious and successful production and remixing pair in the international electronic scene.
Famous for their trademark Iberican Sound, a delicious blend of hypnotizing, warm, inviting tribal soundscapes laced with a brilliant use of modern tech elements they have travelled the world spreading their musical message. With an impressive list of credentials it is no mystery why Chus & Ceballos are in demand on the global circuit, having been introduced to the U.S. gay circuit crowd in 2005 by The Saint Large as opening Black Party DJ’s. Remixes for Madonna, Paris Hilton, Luzon or Deep Dish have gained a tremendous reputation in the music industry. They hold residences in the most prestigious clubs of the electronic circuit: Stereo in Montreal, Pacha in New York and Space in Miami.They have been recently awarded with the Best Tribal $ Progressive Dj 2007 by Spanish Magazine Deejay and also have entered the Top 100 World Dj’s list of renowned magazine Dj Mag.

HECTOR ROMERO (9 AM to 3 PM +)
It’s 2012 and Hector Romero begins his 29th year as a DJ and Music Business executive. From early responsibilities working in a local record shop to running David Morales’ Def Mix   label DMI and looking after the day-to-day operations of SAW.RECORDINGS alongside partner Satoshi Tomiie, Hector has earned the respect of DJs and record labels throughout the world.
Hector’s intro into the DJ world began at the age of 13.  Nicknamed “DJ Baby Hec,” the Bronx native landed his first job at La Mirage, known at the time as one of the hottest dance clubs in the Bronx. Hector was soon spinning at a number of downtown Manhattan clubs including Save the Robots, Palladium and Roxy as well as The Red Zone where he opened for David Morales.  Hector spends a great deal of time travelling and DJ’ing around the world.  He can be found stirring up the dance floors in Italy, Greece, Tokyo and Spain and considers Stereo in Montreal his home enjoying a quarterly residency.Hector participates and oversees numerous radio and internet music stations.  He is the resident DJ for Def Mix Radio, a monthly Podcast featured on iTunes and Def Mix.com. He is frequently a guest on Paris’ FG radio subbing for Morales while holding down a monthly spot on Italy’s Radio 105. .  Each show contains quality house music from around the globe and will feature guest DJ’s as well as fellow Def Mixers David Morales and Frankie Knuckles.Hector has been using his talents by stepping into the remixing and production arena.  He is collaborating and honing his skills working with numerous established remix producers.  His remix of David Morales’ single “Stay” will be released by Ultra Records this spring.  We can also expect a King Street compilation to hit the streets before the end of the year. Hector works hard at his craft ensuring that the clubbers always have a good time. What sets Romero apart from the rest is his ability to reach the masses through his music as well as his personality. Although he describes himself as a DJ with a musical identity crisis, deep down he knows that it’s his diversity and eclectic taste that set him apart from his peers.  This is what makes him a favorite with promoters and clubbers alike.
